ADRIAN: Recently retired university librarian; uptight
ALISON: His wife, also was a librarian; very uptight
HARRY: Retired businessman, plumbing supplies company; outspoken, right wing, bluff manner
JUDY: His second, younger (but not by very much) wife; outgoing and sexy.

There are also two great supporting roles playing several varied and hugely important characters:
ITALIAN MALE – any age but suggest 40-60 (plays many parts, Italian accent required); waiters; gondolier; “centurion”; beggar; security guard, count (owner of villa)
ITALIAN FEMALE – age range 30-50 (plays many parts, Italian accent required); hotel clerk; waitress; tour guide; car hire rep; Nicola (co-owner of villa); dress shop owner. Also plays an English-speaking countess.
