Please note, when researching this show, Beenleigh Theatre Group will be presenting the 1987 (Beaumont) version of the show. It is drastically different from the original and 1960’s update of the production. We also ask that all auditionees be of 16 years of age and over.

Auditions will be held on Sunday June 25th and if required Monday June 26th. The season begins Friday November 10 and closes Saturday November 25. Why such a long rehearsal period? Read the rehearsal info below!
For auditions we will ask you to prepare a verse and chorus only for two songs. One must be upbeat and jazzy, while the second must be a ballad. If you are auditioning for a dance or ensemble role only, one song showcasing your range is sufficient.
Pages from the script will be available at the information night on June 15. If you do not attend and would like specific character pages, contact director Michael Skelton for pages. You may also be asked to cold read on the day. Get ready to be versatile
We ask you to dress appropriately for a dance audition, whether you are seeking a dance role or not. You will be taught two eight counts of dance during your audition. Tap and dance ensemble will be asked to perform something more advanced. This will also be taught on the day.
