CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG.
BABIRRA MUSIC THEATRE Inc.

BABIRRA Music Theatre is proud to present the Melbourne non-professional premiere of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Based on the 1968 film produced by Albert R Broccoli and starring Dick Van Dyke, Chitty is the story of eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts who, with the help of his children Jeremy and Jemima, sets about restoring an old racing car from a scrap heap. Soon they discover that the car has magical properties, including the ability to float and take flight. However trouble occurs when the evil Baron Bomburst of Vulgaria desires the magic car for himself.

The music and lyrics were written by the Sherman brothers Richard and Robert, who also wrote the music and lyrics for Mary Poppins. The book by Jeremy Sams is loosely based on Ian Fleming’s 1964 novel.

We are excited to announce auditions for our June 2017 production of: CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG.
